Meet Avery Cavner, 16 years old competitive cyclist living with type one diabetes.
Introduced to the sport by her endurance runner father, Avery took her first spin on a bike at the age of six. Delving into various disciplines such as Cyclocross, Road, Track, and more recently, mountain biking, Avery found a special connection with road cycling and track riding, drawn to the adrenaline rush of racing. What sets Avery apart is not just her prowess on the road but her resilience in the face of a unique challenge – being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the tender age of two.

Undeterred, Avery has seamlessly integrated cycling into her life as a type one diabetic. From managing blood sugars before and after competitions during her younger years to understanding her body's dynamics as a high-intensity endurance athlete, Avery exemplifies the spirit of overcoming obstacles.
